Living area remodeling, the DH Homes way
Most kitchens in Boise open onto a living room or family room. Once the kitchen is new, the room next to it shows its age fast: different flooring, a tired fireplace, trim that does not match. Living area remodeling is how we fix that. We carry the flooring through, rework the fireplace, add built-ins, and repaint so the whole main floor agrees with itself.
This work is usually part of a kitchen project, but not always. We also remodel living areas on their own, including opening a wall between the kitchen and living room, building an entertainment wall, or finishing a vaulted ceiling with wood beams like the master bedroom addition pictured here. Framing, drywall, carpentry, and paint are all our crew.

Can you open the wall between my kitchen and living room?
In most houses, yes. We check whether the wall is load-bearing, design the header, and frame it ourselves. The open kitchen and living room on this page is a good example of what that looks like finished.
Do you do living rooms without a kitchen remodel?
Yes, though most of our living area work is tied to a kitchen. A fireplace refacing plus built-ins plus flooring is a common standalone project.
What about the fireplace?
We can reface an existing fireplace with brick, stone, or tile, add a mantel, or build cabinetry around it. Gas insert changes are coordinated with a licensed fireplace installer.
