Those houses have good bones and bad kitchens, which is a combination we like.
For Caldwell projects we plan the schedule tightly so the crew is not making the drive for a half day of work. Cabinets and vanities are built and finished in the shop, and the crew handles framing, drywall, flooring, trim, and paint on site.

Caldwell has three kinds of houses, roughly. Near downtown and the College of Idaho there are early 1900s homes, many of them bungalows and farmhouses, with small kitchens, tall ceilings, and original trim worth matching. Around them are mid-century ranches and 1970s split-levels where the kitchen is walled off from the living room and the soffits come down first. And on the north and east sides there are newer subdivisions with production-built kitchens that are ready for custom cabinets and a real island. Additions come up more in Caldwell than in most cities we serve, because lots are larger and the older houses are often short a bedroom or a family room.
